Description
SuperStone Concrete
Dyes are concentrated solutions of alcohol soluble alkali resistant,
high light fast chemical dyes in methanol. These special dyes are
designed to penetrate deeply into the pores of cementitous surfaces.
They should be sealed with one of the SuperStone three clear sealers
within one hour to one day after application.
Basic
Use
SuperStone Concrete Dyes are designed to allow the applicator
to paint intricate designs or pictures on the various SuperStone
cementitous surfacing products. These dyes are to be used
to accent, tint or enhance natural concrete or those cemetitous
surfaces such as ChlorStain, Concrete Hardener, Super-Tex
or SuperSurface Polymer mixes such as the stamped concrete
type.
Colors
and Opacity
SuperStone Concrete Dyes will color the specific surface but
will not hide or cover the underlying area. These dyes are
translucent, and in low concentration, transparent. Use the
SuperStone Concrete Dyes as is for deep colors. Use 50/50
by volume with methanol for pastel shades. Use one part dye
to ten parts methanol for pale shades. If a very, very light
color cast is desired, the dyes can be diluted with methanol
or denatured alcohol as much as desired.
SuperStone
Concrete Dyes are available in eight ready made colors to
give the applicators a palette of colors to work with. Other
colors can be obtained by intermixing any of the eight colors.
Coverage
The coverage varies greatly. It depends on the degree of dilution
with methanol and the number of coats necessary for the specific
application.
Caution
The SuperStone Concrete Dyes are alcohol-based and flammable.
Use with good ventilation. Keep away from all ignition sources
such as non explosion-proof electrical apparatus. DO NOT
SMOKE. Methanol evaporates very easily even at low temperatures.
Store in a cool environment and not in direct sunlight.

Colors
shown in this chart represent, as closely as possible, the
colors obtained by Concrete Dyes. Variations in shading may
occur, depending on job condition and concrete finishing practice.
Due
to the fact that most computer color monitors do not produce
exact color tones, actual colors may differ a great deal.
